Who is The Workforce?

For this initiative, we defined the workforce broadly as anyone who helps to create caring relationships and safe environments that support the healthy growth of children, families, and communities. Anyone who fit this definition was invited to participate.

We intentionally held separate focus groups for direct service providers and administrators, to allow space for direct service providers to share fully without having their supervisors in the room. At the beginning of these sessions we invited participants to bring their whole identities to the conversation and asked them to complete a demographic survey. It included thirteen different identities across three categories. 114 service providers and administrators completed the survey. There were an additional 24 people in the system level interviews who did not complete the demographic survey. In all, we engaged a total of 139 participants.

The results of the demographic survey are below. The information shows us a lot about who the workforce is.
